Peru Balsam is a rich, dark resin, typically brown or reddish in color, derived from the Myroxylon Tree—whose name translates from Greek to “fragrant wood.” Harvested through careful incisions in the tree’s bark, the resin initially flows with a semi-liquid consistency, gradually solidifying upon exposure to air before forming natural cracks. Its complex aroma, warm and balsamic, lends depth and sophistication to any composition it graces.
