The owner and artistic director of Thameen, was raised on fine fragrance. As a young boy he was frequently taken to visit many international fragrance markets patronized by his father, a passionate perfume devotee whose penchant for the finest blend of Taif rose was so legendary that his collection could be followed through the streets of his native city! Quality was the mantra of his father and he was meticulous in the selection of his ingredients, his “precious jewels”, and would travel with his son to famous fragrance markets overseas, just to ensure that his were the finest and most highly-prized oils in the world.
The owner’s memories and strong emotional connection to scent never faded and finally called him to this new adventure, or perhaps re-aligned him with an old one! His determination was to create a contemporary collection of scents combining Eastern opulence with Western refinement.

Chords is inspired by the desire of belonging in British-German composer George Handel’s residency in London at 25 Brook Street. Handel’s monumental contribution to British culture and music cemented his status as being “more British than British”.

Master Perfumer Nathalie Lorson begins the construction of Chords with Bergamot, echoing British Earl Grey tea with Neroli, which reinforces the fragrance’s freshness with the green and floral richness of Orange Blossom. In the heart, Ylang Ylang, Honey Accord and Tobacco diffuse a suave, warm and addictive sensation. Finally in the base, Cedarwood Atlas and Woodleather reveal a bewitching and woody animalic facet whilst seducing the light and bright volatility of traditional cologne with a darker dimension.

**THE STORY:** The 8th fragrance in Thameen’s unique ‘Treasure’ Collection, ‘Green Peal’ is inspired by the ‘Yemengzhu’, the legendary luminous Chinese ‘pearls’ of green fluorite. This naturally phosphorescent mineral which literally glows in the dark is found only in China and is the most valuable in the world, highly prized by the Chinese as just touching it is said to bring health, great prosperity and good luck! As hard and rarer than the finest grade diamonds, the largest green pearl is 1.6 meters in diameter and valued at 3.1 billion dollars!

**THE FRAGRANCE:** ‘Green Pearl’ opens with a biting green note of apple set aglow by bright citrus accords of mandarin, neroli and bergamot. **THE STORY:** Considered by many to be the most famous diamond in the world, The Hope is also one of the world’s largest diamonds. Described as the size of a pigeon’s egg, it is a distinctive grey blue in hue, and also emanates a rare red phosphorescent glow. The gem has been worn by sultans, queens, aristocracy and socialites; most notably Queen Marie Antoinette who wore it as a hairpin, and its last private owner, the flamboyant heiress Evalyn Walsh Maclean. Over 300 years old, the Regent Diamond is 141 carats, cushion-cut and its colour is ‘of the first water’ that is, perfectly white and virtually flawless. **THE STORY:** Solah Shringar is a 16 stage ritual to prepare royal women for public appearance. **THE STORY:** A ‘Rivière’ is a classic necklace comprised of gemstones that are of identical size or seamlessly graduated. One of the most famous Rivière belonged to Queen Mary and consisted of 34 old cut diamonds.
