THE STORY: Considered by many to be the most famous diamond in the world, The Hope is also one of the world’s largest diamonds. Described as the size of a pigeon’s egg, it is a distinctive grey blue in hue, and also emanates a rare red phosphorescent glow. The gem has been worn by sultans, queens, aristocracy and socialites; most notably Queen Marie Antoinette who wore it as a hairpin, and its last private owner, the flamboyant heiress Evalyn Walsh Maclean. It was the inspiration for the ‘Heart of The Ocean’ in the film Titanic and provides the inspiration for the iridescent fragrance.
THE FRAGRANCE: Opening with the warm radiance of cinnamon bark, myrrh and cloves conjure the diamond’s legendary fiery red glow. A woody shimmer of cedar and oud wood is at the heart, layered with the multi-faceted, honeyed brilliance of the immortelle flower. A base of black amber, labdanum resin (from the Mediterranean rock rose), musk and vetiver, exude pure glamour and sophistication. Decadent.
THE STORY: Famed as the Eighth Wonder of the World, The Amber Room was presented to Peter the Great by the King of Prussia. Glowing at the heart of Catherine Palace near St Petersburg, the chamber was lined entirely with amber panels backed with gold leaf and mirrors. When lit with more than five hundred candles it was reputed to glow like trapped sunshine and fiery gold. Created by melting together amber, Cognac and honey, its history and brilliance has inspired the creation of this fragrance.

THE STORY: Regent Leather is a luxury fragrance from Thameen in association with The Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club. Traditionally, Thameen selects a rare gemstone as the inspiration for each of its fragrances and it is only fitting that, for this project, they have chosen what is considered to be the finest diamond in the world – The Regent Diamond.
Over 300 years old, the Regent Diamond is 141 carats, cushion-cut and its colour is ‘of the first water’ that is, perfectly white and virtually flawless. The fragrance exudes luxury and privilege, opening with the daring juxtaposition of smooth vanilla and sharp lemon. At the heart, the perfumer has cleverly conjured a remarkable leather scent reminiscent of the interior of the Rolls Royce, a cocoon of craftsmanship that envelopes the wearer. The tone speaks of power and strong will, supported by spices and resins including a fine saffron and deep resinous labdanum. The base is glossy, a perfumed patina of elegant and timeless gurjum, cedar and patchouli.

THE STORY: Solah Shringar is a 16 stage ritual to prepare royal women for public appearance. Indian royalty were considered somewhere between man and God and this ritual adornment with perfumes and jewels created something of a super-human presence. The name itself comes from temple designs and decorations and the image of the women, once decorated, as a perfect, carved goddess. A unique Oud was selected from the South of India, one of the highest quality Oud oils, it is both angular and edgy.
THE FRAGRANCE: The unique Oud from the South of India, angular and sweetly edgy, dictates this heavenly scent. The top note blends beautifully with cedar wood and guaiac. At the base, a pure patchouli and sunbaked vetivert add depth and warmth polished off by a smooth, temperate musk. Divine.

INSPIRATION
The fresh faced natural beauty of Persephone was free from artifice or evil, her sweet nature and purity of soul was adored by gods, goddesses and humankind. Her playground and purpose was nature, symbolic of spring and summer, she was associated with flowers, harvest, fruit, grain and the beauty and bounty of nature.
This perfume was created with Patchouli of the Underworld as a pair. Two perfumers explore the central note of Patchouli through two lenses of the same story: that of Pluto and his Queen Persephone.
PERFUMERS NOTE
“I used patchouli heart which is a cleaner patchouli note and enriched with musky and ambery textures. On top, I added fresh spicy elements, notably Cardamom from Guatemala. I combined the patchouli character with floral notes of Bulgarian rose. To enhance the fruity part of the rose, I added a note of plum that also goes really well with the warmth of the patchouli. For the floral heart, I used responsibly-sourced jasmine from Egypt for its richness. I added a gourmand twist with honey and a touch of coffee. This is rounded by a creamy facet with sandalwood notes and blond woods. And of course 6 pomegranate seeds.” Christian Provenzano
